Colorful People is a Czech-Slovak music project with a strong international reach, formed after studies at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague and at the prestigious Brazilian institute Escola de Choro Raphael Rabello in Brasília. The band has performed in the USA, Canada, Brazil, India (Giants of Jazz Festival – Delhi), Armenia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, as well as throughout Europe, and has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists such as Jamison Ross (USA), Avishai Cohen (IL), Tommy Emmanuel (AUS), and Morcheeba (UK). Within the contemporary Czech music scene, the band represents a new musical wave based on a fusion of soul, world music, bossa nova, jazz, and folk. Their beautiful songs are delivered with instrumental lightness and natural ease.
The core of the project has long been an acoustic trio, but in recent years Colorful People have expanded to include a pianist and a drummer and are now fully active as a new five-member lineup. In this formation, they are currently preparing a new original Czech-Slovak album, from which two singles have already been released.
